Wholesale markets recorded the entry of more than 11,000 tons of food

According to the Directorate of Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation of Policies of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), the potato, a privileged tuber of the majority of households in the country, experienced an entry of 2,505 tons yesterday to the GMML, where the yellow potato was sold. tumay at S/ 3.95, while the Andean black at S/ 2.38 and the Yungay (white) at S/ 2.08, per kilo.

 

Likewise, it was reported that some products suffered a slight increase in their prices, such as: purple sweet potato from S/ 2.05 to S/ 2.08, Creole garlic from S/ 2.38 to S/ 2.50, red potato from S/ 2.58 to S / 2.63, red onion from S/ 0.68 to S/ 0.69, per kilo, among others.

 

In the Great Wholesale Market of Lima alone, the entry of 8,651 tons of food of various varieties was reported yesterday.

 

With respect to the sale of live chicken, yesterday the bird was sold at S/ 6.60, while last Wednesday it was at S/ 6.60 and the price of eggs remained rising at S/ 6.60 per kilo.

 

Fruits

For its part, in the Wholesale Fruit Market No. 2, the entry of 2,672 tons was reported yesterday, 19.5% increase compared to the last four Thursdays.

 

The month of January is par excellence a period of consumption of seasonal fruits and we can mention the offers of: strong avocado from S/ 6.38 to S/ 6.23, Hawaiian pineapple from S/ 1.93 to S/ 1.85, coquito melon from S/ 1.54 to S/ 1.48, Italy grape from S/ 2.85 to S/ 2.79, jungle papaya from S/ 2.04 to S/ 1.98, jungle granadilla from S/ 3.50 to S/ 3.48, delicious apple from S/ 2.47 to S/ 2.44, per kilo.

 

According to these indicators, thanks to the information provided by Midagri, the entry of merchandise into the capital of the Republic has been on the rise and is on the way to stabilizing, so there is no reason for prices to rise in the district markets of the capital since they are supplied with merchandise.
